Most Played Browser Games: October 2026, From Real Play Data

· 4 min read

The most played browser game in October 2026 was Skate 3, with 32,415 plays, 29.5% of all plays on the games listed here. Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies came second with 13,663 and The Simpsons: Hit & Run third with 8,252. The top five, all PC or console hits from 2002 to 2010, took 60.2% of plays.

These numbers are not a survey or an opinion list. They come from our own counter: every time a visitor presses Play on a game page, we count it before sending them to the site that runs the game.

How we count

  • A play is one press of the Play button on browsergame.si. The same visitor pressing Play on the same game twice on the same day counts once.
  • Period: 9 to 31 October 2026, in UTC. The site opened on 9 October, so this first ranking covers 23 days.
  • Base: visitors pressed Play 137,039 times in that period. 109,934 of those plays were on games still listed today, and that is the base of the shares below. Listings we have since removed (taken down, or their port went away) are left out, as are 18+ games.
  • What it does not measure: how long people played, or plays that start on the host site without passing through us.

We publish the totals only, never anything about individual visitors.

The top 10, in a sentence each

  1. Skate 3 is an unofficial fan engine that runs EA's 2010 game on WebGPU. You need the game: its data streams from your own converted copy.
  2. Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies is solo zombies from Treyarch's 2010 game, rebuilt for the browser, with maps picked on the game's own map screen.
  3. The Simpsons: Hit & Run is the 2003 open world Springfield game as a WebAssembly port that streams the game's data.
  4. GTA: Vice City WASM Port is a WebAssembly build of Rockstar's 2002 game from the reVC code reconstruction. You import the game's data archive once.
  5. Counter-Strike 1.6 is the classic team shooter, terrorists against counter-terrorists, in a browser tab on DOS Zone, with bots or other players.
  6. Minecraft Classic is Mojang's official free browser version of the 2009 game. Mojang removed its multiplayer on 9 June 2025, so it is a single-player creative sandbox today (Minecraft Wiki).
  7. Minecraft 1.8.8 (EaglercraftX) is an unofficial WebAssembly build of Minecraft 1.8.8, with survival and creative worlds saved on your device.
  8. Halo: Combat Evolved runs from the fans' decompilation of Bungie's 2001 Xbox game, with online multiplayer and controller support. You load a disc image made from your own copy.
  9. Grand Theft Auto III brings the 2001 Liberty City to the browser from re3, the fans' reconstruction of its code.
  10. GTA III (WASM Arcade) is a second build of the same re3 engine, with the radio stations, saves and the PC cheats.

What the numbers say

  • Big console games win. Eight of the top ten are console or PC blockbusters from 2001 to 2010 that fans rebuilt for the browser, not small web games. The two GTA III builds together (4,584 plays) would rank sixth.
  • Skate 3 is in a league of its own. Over the month it had more than twice the plays of the second game.
  • The first days were the busiest. 10 and 11 October each passed 20,000 plays; the last week of the month (25 to 31 October) settled at 17,243 plays.

The last 7 days

From 27 October to 2 November 2026, the order at the top held: Skate 3 (4,148 plays), Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies (3,452), The Simpsons: Hit & Run (1,490), GTA: Vice City WASM Port (844), Counter-Strike 1.6 (650), Minecraft Classic (485), Halo: Combat Evolved (408), Grand Theft Auto III (367), Minecraft 1.8.8 (EaglercraftX) (310) and Mortal Kombat Trilogy (295).

FAQ

What is the most played browser game right now?

Skate 3. In October 2026 it had 32,415 plays on browsergame.si, 29.5% of all plays on listed games, and it was still first from 27 October to 2 November with 4,148 plays.

How are the plays counted?

One play is one press of the Play button on a game page. The same visitor pressing Play on the same game on the same UTC day counts once. Games we no longer list and 18+ games are left out.

Are these games free?

They open without payment, but some need files from a copy you own: Skate 3 streams its data from your converted copy, Halo: Combat Evolved loads a disc image of your Xbox copy, and Half-Life loads a zip of your own game files. Each game page says what it needs.

Are these official versions?

Minecraft Classic is official Mojang. Almost everything else in the top 20 is a fan port, an engine rebuilt from reverse-engineered code or an emulator, not a release by the original publisher. How games are reverse-engineered to run in a browser explains how they work.

How often is this ranking updated?

Once a month, with the previous month's numbers. The method stays the same so months can be compared.
